Welcome and How to use this Site Minimize

MarinMap is dedicated to improving public service, cooperating to improve each agency's business processes, and providing a forum for collaborative decision making.  MarinMap is building and sharing a geographic information system (GIS), bringing the best available information to the Internet.

Click on the “Home” link (in the blue bar) to learn about MarinMap and see the site's pages.

The “Public Records” link points to meeting agendas, minutes and reports. It also points to the GIS Data Download page.

The links in the Public Information frame take you to sites or GIS applications.

The Map Viewer GIS application shows all public maps in one easy to use application. Enter an Assessor Parcel number (located on your tax bill) or street address to see the property in the context of many mapped features.

The Parcel Viewer is a simple, vintage application to lookup an Assessor Parcel within a context of a few maps. It will retire soon (with no public pension).

The Custom Map Viewer is another vintage application that shows a few maps and allows simple printing in a web browser. It too, will be retiring any day now.

Metadata is information about the GIS maps used by the applications. Using key word searches or clicking on links, learn about data sources, update frequency, accuracy and attributes.

Get your maps as ESRI shape files at the GIS Data Download link. Accept the disclaimer and follow the instructions. (This page will be re-designed).

Orthophotos are digital aerial photographs to which each pixel is assigned a “real world” coordinate that places the photo on the Earth’s surface. Use this handy GIS application to download any one of these very large images.

More GIS applications are available at County of Marin’s GIS applications page. Go here to view specialty topics such as agriculture, parks, special districts and others.
